Maikel Serrano makes history in the Nicaraguan Professional League.

Maikel Serrano became the first player in the history of the Gigantes de Rivas to hit for the cycle during there 19-8 victory over the Indios de Bóer on January 2nd in the Nicaraguan Winter League Round Robin, an unprecedented achievement for the franchise after 13 seasons in professional baseball .

Double in the 2nd inning against Sho Ito.

Triple in the 4th inning against Enrique Saldaña.

Single in the 7th inning against Jonathan Loáisiga.

Two-run home run in the 8th inning against Juan Carlos Gaytán.

In addition, Serrano became the third player to complete the cycle in the Professional League, joining Luis Alen (2012) and Elian Miranda (2019), both of whom achieved the feat while playing against the Indios del Bóer. A historic night for Serrano and the Gigantes de Rivas.

On the season Serrano is hitting .348 with a seven doubles, a homer, a triple and 17 runs batted in, while also slashing .455/.425/.880 with the Gigantes. The Cuban has also seen action in the Venezuelan and Mexican winter circuits.
