Yasmany Tomás’ homer is key in a Los Mochis win. (+Cuban Winter League Report)

Yasmany Tomás went yard, a solo-homerun in the first inning of the Cañeros de Los Mochis 8-4 win over the Tomateros de Culiacán to stave off a sweep in their playoff series in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The Cuban slugger homered for second time in the postseason and now hits .200.

For Culiacán and in a loss Orlando Martínez drove in two runs via a single in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to raise his average to .188 in the Mexican circuit playoffs.

In the LIDOM Jimmy Yacabonis tossed a scoreless inning of relief during the Toros del Este’s 3-1 win over the Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Round Robin. The Cuban- American righty also notched his first victory of the postseason and his earned run average fell to 3.00.
