Yoelkis Guibert is warming up for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

It’s February, and Yoelkis Guibert knows it. The Santiago native had another strong tournament with the Cuban team in the Americas Series, just before participating in his second World Baseball Classic.

He drove in at least one run in six of Cuba’s eight games. In the tournament, he batted .314 (35 AB; 11 H), driving in nine runs for the Cuban team, many of them in clutch situations. He also hit a double and a home run. Guibert is projected to be Cuba’s starting center fielder in the 2026 WBC.
