Andy Pagés swatted a key fifth inning three-run shot to spark a Dodgers 8-2 triumph at home to open up the year. The outfielder smashed two hits on the day, scored a run and even flashed the leather with a sensational seventh inning catch.

Aroldis Chapman notched his first save of season in Boston’s Opening Day 3-0 blanking of the Red Sox. The flamethrowing left-hander tossed a scoreless ninth to secure the Red Sox win and now has 368 saves in his storied career tying him with Jonathan Papelbon on the all-time list.

Nick Fortes had a stupendous Opening Day by collecting three hits, knocking a run and scoring on an occasion during Tampa Bay’s 9-7 loss to the Cardinals. After a tough season at the plate last season the Cuban-American catcher has an excellent start to the 2026 campaign.

Luis Robert Jr made his Mets debut with two runs batted in via singles in fourth and fifth innings to do his part in New York’s 11-7 thrashing of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cuban outfielder also scored on an occasion and hits .500 after the first game of the campaign.
