Adrián Del Castillo swatted two hits in three trips to the plate including a run-scoring double in the sixth inning of the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-4 loss to the Toronto Bluejays. The Cuban-American catcher saw his average rise to .333 and has now knocked in 11 runs on the campaign.
Miguel Vargas went downtown for the third time on the season, a two-run third inning homerun to do his part in the White Sox’s 7-4 victory over the Athletics. The infielder has now driven in 10 runs and slugged nine extra-base hits on the season.
Yordan Álvarez launched his MLB leading 10th homerun in five at-bats during the Houston Astros 7-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cuban slugger scored once on the day and is now tied MLB lead in runs batted in with 21. Álvarez also saw his average fall to .333 on the season.
