Andy Pagés drives in a run, but the Dodgers fall to St. Louis. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Andy Pagés knocked in a run via a ninth inning single in three trips but the Dodgers’ still fell 3-2 to the Cardinals. The Cuban slugger is now hitting .319 and is now leads the Dodgers with 26 runs batted in on the season.

Miguel Vargas drove in two runs via a sixth inning single in four at-bats to do his part in a Chicago White Sox’s 4-0 blanking of the San Diego Padres. Vargas has now knocked in 17 runs and although he hits a lowly .216 he does sport an above-average .779 on the year.

Edgar Quero also got in on the act by swatting a run-scoring single in the seventh inning breaking a slump that see his him hitting a miniscule .143 in his last 15 games. The catcher has now driven in five runs on the season.

Orlando Ribalta returned to the majors by tossing a scoreless inning in which he struck out a batter during the Washington Nationals’ 4-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cuban right-hander has yet to allow a run in three innings pitched and sports an 0.33 WHIP on the campaign.
