Yordan Álvarez drives in six in an Astros triumph. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Yordan Álvarez went yard twice in first inning, one of the homeruns being a grand slam and drove in six runs in the stanza to lead the Houston Astros in their 10-8 victory over the Kansas City Royals. The Cuban slugger now leads the American League in homeruns (24) and runs batted in (54).

Miguel Vargas collected three hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in via a fifth inning double and also scored a run during  the White Sox’s 8-2 win over the Dodgers. The infielder from Havana watched his average rise to .251 and has now driven 44 runs.

Yennier Cano fanned all three batters he faced after tossing a scoreless inning to do his part during the Baltimore Orioles’ 7-3 win over the San Diego Padres. The Cuban right-hander saw his earned run average descend to 2.28 on the season and has struck out 21 batters in 23⅔ innings pitched.
