Raynel Delgado swats his first MLB homerun in a Houston victory.

Raynel Delgado swatted his first homerun in the MLB, a two-run shot during the seventh inning of the Houston Astros’ 7-5 victory over the the Detroit Tigres. The infielder saw his average rise to .280 and has now driven in four runs on the season.

Miguel Vargas had a perfect day at the plate, including a two-run homerun in the first inning during the Chicago White Sox’s 5-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals. The native of Havana has now gone yard 19 times on the campaign and hits a torrid .417 over his last seven games.

Cionel Pérez made the first start of his career for the Mets tossing a scoreless inning during which he fanned two of the batters he faced in New York’s 5-4 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies. The left-hander a solid 3.45 earned run average with the squad from Gotham and has struck 16 batters over that same span.
