Yoelqui Céspedes upped his batting average to .370 after another outstanding offensive performance for the Tecos de Dos Laredos. The Cuban outfielder went 3-for-5 with two RBIs in a 12-5 victory over the Saraperos de Saltillo.
Céspedes swatted a double and two singles for the Aztec club on the day, with the two-bagger coming in the ninth inning to drive in two runs and put the finishing touches on the Tecos victory.
Albert Lara blasted his eighth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning to account for his only run batted and hit in four official at-bats. The infielder raised his batting average to .345 during Unión Laguna’s 8-3 win over Aguascalientes.
Meanwhile, Yadir Drake got on the act for Unión Laguna by collecting two hits in four plate appearances, both singles. Drake alsp scored twice, drove in one run to improved his batting average to .311 on the season for the Algodoneros.
