Randy Arozarena belted his 16th longball of the season, a two-run shot and his only hit in four at-bats. The outfielder also scored twice on the day during the Seattle Mariners ‘ 10-5 loss to the Yankees. Arozarena is now four homeruns short of his sixth straight 20-20 season.
Luis Robert Jr went downtown for the sixth time on the season in three trips to the dish, but his best efforts could not prevent the Mets from failing to Atlanta 6-3. The “Panther” as he is known by the Cuban faithful is now hitting .348 over his last seven games.
Yandy Díaz collected two hits in five trips to the plate, including an RBI on a fifth inning single and also scored a run to do his part in the Tampa Bay Rays 8-4 win over the Athletics. The Cuban slugger saw his average rise to .302 and has now driven in 69 runs on the campaign.
Adrián Morejón notched his ninth win of the season after tossing two scoreless innings in which he allowed a hit and fanned four batters during the San Diego Padres 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cuban left-hander saw his ERA descend to 2.76 and has not allowed an earned run in 13⅓ innings.
