Nolan Arenado goes yard, but Arizona falls to Miami. (Cuban MLB Report)

Nolan Arenado went downtown for the 26th time on the campaign, a solo-shot in the eighth inning of the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 loss to the Miami Marlins. The Cuban-American slugger saw his average rise to .243 and has now driven in 74 runs on the campaign.

Nick Martínez tossed five innings in which he gave two earned runs via five hits and fanned  three batters to notch his 15th victory of the season and do his part in Tampa Bay’s 4-3 win over the Athletics. The right-hander saw his earned run average descend to 2.94 on the season and has struck out 101 batters in 171 innings pitched.

Nick Fortes also got in on the act with a second inning double to help the cause for the Rays. The native of Miami has had a solid season at the plate hitting a solid .264 and has knocked in 34 as a part time catcher.
