Albert Lara swatted a three-run sixth inning homerun to give the Algodoneros de Guasave a 3-2 lead in a game the eventually lost 6-4 to the Charros de Jalisco. For the Cuban infielder it was his third longball to go along with six runs batted in on the campaign.
Víctor Labrada also got in on the act with a homerun of his own to go along with two hits, but all this wasn’t enough to lead the Mexican squad to a win. The outfielder now leads the Algodoneros with 14 runs knocked in on the year.
Left-hander Andrew Pérez tossed two scoreless innings in which he fanned four batters in the Tigres del Licey’s 8-3 loss to their arch-rival Águilas Cibaeñas. The Cuban-American hurler has yet to allow a run and has fanned seven batters in his four innings pitched this season.
For the victorious team from Santiago Raynel Delgado collected two hits in three at-bats, including an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Delgado raised his average to .243 and has driven in five runs on the season.
