Raidel Martínez reaches 100 saves in NPB. (+Asian League Report )

Raidel Martínez recorded his ninth save of the year and 100th of his career in the NPB after striking out two of the three batters he faced in the Chunichi Dragons’ 2-1 win over the Yomiuri Giants at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya .

Armed with a triple digit fastball “The Cuban Skyscraper ” has an ERA of 2.09, WHIP of 1.14 and a SO/9 of 10.3 in his six seasons in the land of the rising sun.

The right-hander from Pinar del Río maintained his ERA at 0.00 on the season and again is tied for the Central League lead in saves. His countrymen and teammate Dayán Viciedo went 2-for-3 on the day, with 2 singles, one run and a walk, to raise his average to .277.

Liván Moinelo picked up his first save of the season after giving up two hits and no runs in an inning of relief in the SoftBank Hawks’ 6-3 win over the Lotte Marines. His ERA improved to 1.00 on the campaign.
