Pavel Hernández debuts in México. (+Mexican League Report)

Pavel Hernández made his professional debut in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes last night versus the Sultanes de Monterrey. Although he didn’t factor in the decision the native of Havana had a shaky start tossing 4 ⅔ allowing five earned via eight hits and he fanned one in Aguascalientes 7-6 loss to Monterrey.

Albert Lara continues to punish pitchers in México, the young infielder has a three game hitting and is 9-for-14 over that span. In last night’s game he collected a hit in four trips to the plate and drove in a run to do his part in Unión Laguna’s 5-3 win over Veracruz. Lara saw his average fall to .327 on the season.

In breaking news today the Acereros del Norte have signed Padres minor leaguer Luis Avilés Jr, in 10 season in the minors he hit .240 with 59 homeruns and 319 RBIs.This winter he hit .330 in the Australian Winter League with Adelaide.
