Roenis Elías win his first game in the KBO. (+Asian League Report)

Roenis Elías made his first start in the KBO tossing five innings where he gave up three runs on three hits and struck out two in SSG’s 5-3 win over the LG Twins. The ex-big leaguer now sports a 5.40 earned run average after a start in Korea. Guillermo Heredia went hitless in three at-bats but did drive in a run via a groundout.

In Japan Liván Moinelo struck out two of the three opponents he faced in an inning of relief to drop his ERA to 1.20 on the campaign in the SoftBank Hawks’ 2-1 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters at Es Con Field in Hokkaido. Ariel Martínez went hitless in two at-bats and drew a walk to watch his average fall to .245 on the season.

Dayán Viciedo went 2-for-4, with singles singles and an RBI, in the 6-2 loss to the Chunichi Dragons against the Hiroshima Carpas. The native Villa Clara, Cuba knocked in his first run of the season and raised his average to .236.

Although he did not factor in the decision Elian Leyva was masterful in Rakuten 3-1 loss to the Uni-Lions hurling 7 ⅔ innings where he allowed an earned run and struck out six. The right-hander saw his ERA drop to 2.27 on the season and has now fanned 25 in 31 ⅔ innings pitched.
