Daysbel Hernández made his Major League debut by striking out three of the four batters he faced and collecting the first win of career on the grand stage. The native of Pinar del Río, Cuba is 386 Cuban to debut on the grand stage.

Raisel Iglesias helped his countrymen’s cause by notching his 18th save of the season after tossing a ninth inning where he struck out all three batters he faced in Atlanta’s 4-2 win over Milwaukee. The Cuban righty has four saves in his last seven contests.

Alex Faedo was spectacular this afternoon tossing six episodes of one-hit ball to handcuff San Diego’s bats in Detroit’s 3-1 victory. The Cuban-American hurler also struck out two on the day to watch his earned run average descend to 5.80 on the season. Andy Ibáñez aided the pitcher by going yard for the seventh time on the season and also drove in a run. The infielder’s average rose to .237 on the campaign.
