Yandy Díaz deposited his 14th ball of the season in the stands and knocked in two runs, but his efforts could not save Tampa from a 5-3 defeat to Baltimore. Alex Faedo was spectacular this afternoon tossing six episodes of one-hit ball to handcuff San Diego’s bats in Detroit’s 3-1 victory. The Cuban-American hurler also struck out two on the day to watch his earned run average descend to 5.80 on the season. Andy Ibáñez aided the pitcher by going yard for the seventh time on the season and also drove in a run. The infielder’s average rose to .237 on the campaign.
