Yandy Díaz smacked a key pinch-hit double in the seventh inning to give Tampa a 5-4 lead over Seattle and then went yard in the ninth, a two-run blast to lead Tampa to a 7-4 victory over the Mariners. Diaz has now hit a career high 19 longballs on the season.

The Cuban-American slugger is fourth in the league with 36 doubles and is now hitting a solid .270 on the campaign.

Aroldis Chapman notched his fifth save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth in which he struck out a batter to preserve Texas’ 3-2 win over Oakland. The flamethrowing lefty has now fanned 95 in 53 innings this season.

Yordan Álvarez went yard for the 26th time on the season on drove in two runs to key a Houston 7-5 win over the Padres. The native of Las Tunas, Cuba is now hitting a robust .324 over the last month. José Abreu also aided the cause with an RBI in three trips to the plate.
