Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth in which he gave up two hits, but fanned two batters to secure Atlanta’s 9-6 win over New York. The right-hander saw his ERA fall to 2.79 on the season and now has four 30-save seasons in his nine year career.
Iglesias now has 187 saves in his career and since the All-Star break the Braves’ fireman has posted a 1.78 ERA and has saved 14 games. The native of the Isle of Youth is also 30-of-34 in save situations.
José Abreu and Yordan Álvarez combined for three hits, two runs batted in and two runs scored, but Houston still fell to KC 7-5. Abreu went yard for the 17th time on the season, while Álvarez is six RBIs shy of the century mark. In Abreu’s case the first baseman has 83 runs batted in on the campaign.
