Cuban outfielder Jordan Sánchez will sign with the Baltimore Orioles in the coming days , according to the report per the colleague Francys Romero. The deal is pending a physical and the player will receive a signing bonus in the range of $450,000.
Sánchez left Cuba in July 2023 and became a coveted international free agents due to his superior bat speed and power. More than 20 MLB teams attended his last showcase in October and several teams were interested to the point of making significant offers for the 6’2, 190 lb. player. Pérez trained at Yuan Pino’s Academy before his signing.

Sánchez who is from Matanzas, Cuba and looks to start in the Dominican Summer League in the coming season. The Cuban will join his countrymen Cionel Pérez, Yennier Cano,Michael Mantecón, Xavier Alvero, and Eccel William Correa inside Baltimore’s organization.
With the growing amount of Cuban players fleeing the island due to adverse conditions look for the amount of Cubans to grow significantly in the majors within the coming years. In 2022 a record amount (33) of Cuban players graced the diamonds of MLB.
