Rubi Silva had his best night of the season in Chinandega’s 15-10 win over Bóer. The outfielder collected five hits in five trips to the plate, hit a homerun, drove in five and also scored three times on the evening. Silva is now hitting a robust .392 on the campaign.
Dayán García also hit his fifth longball of the season and drove in two runs to help the cause. García now leads the league with 22 runs batted in and is .311 on the season. Lorenzo Quintana also got in the act with two hits in three at-bats and an RBI.
Yosmany Guerra went yard for the first time on the campaign and drove in two runs, while also scoring on an occasion, but the Gigantes de Chinandega fell to the Tren del Norte 10-9. The infielder watched his average rise to .286 on the year.
There was no action on the night in the LIDOM or LBPRC due to the fact that both circuits will play an All-Star Game today in Santiago, DR. Pedro Echemendia and JC Escarra will be part of the Puerto Rican team, while Raúl Valdés will make up a part of the Dominican squad.
