Pedro Echemendia started the Legends Game in the Estadio Cibao in Santiago de Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic Sunday for the LBPRC All-Stars and was masterful in one inning of work. The right-hander struck out two of the four batters he faced and did not give up a run.
Cuban-American catcher JC Escarra also saw action in the contest going 1-for-5 on the day and showing a great defensive prowess behind the plate. The Puerto Rican squad was left on the field in the bottom of the ninth when JC Pérez singled bringing in Junior Caminero and giving their counterparts from the LIDOM a 5-4 win.
In the Liga ARCO Yadir Drake collected two hits in four trips to the plate while also driving in a run to pace Guasave in their 2-1 win over Culiacán. The slugger from Matanzas, Cuba is now hitting a robust .336 and has knocked in 16 runs on the season.
