Dairon Blanco puts on a show in the Estrellas doubleheader split. (+Winter League Report)

Dairon Blanco was the catalyst in the Estrellas Orientales 9-3 win in the first game of the doubleheader between the ballclubs. The speedster from Camagüey, Cuba collected three hits in five trips to the plate, drove in three runs, scored a run and even stole a base. In total Blanco stole three bases on the day.

Roel Santos also helped the cause with two hits in four at-bats and also knocked in a run, while Jorge Martínez also tossed three innings in which he only surrendered a run. In the second game a 4-1 Águilas win Yadiel Hernández swatted two hits in four AB’s to watch his average jump to .343 on the season.

In his second outing in the LVBP Ariel Miranda was masterful. The Cuban left-hander tossed six innings of no-run, two-hit ball to lead La Guaira to 6-1 win over Magallanes. The hurler also fanned nine during his outing and his earned run average descended to 2.79 on the season.
