Yennier Cano made his Spring Training debut tossing a scoreless inning in Baltimore’s 7-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The 2023 All-Star allowed a hit and also fanned a batter on the day. The right-hander looks to play a prominent role in the team’s bullpen this season and with the injury to Félix Bautista might even be the squad’s closer, if Craig Kimbrel doesn’t work out.
Zach Neto went yard for the second time on the spring, a key two-run bomb in the fifth innings to lead the Angels to a 3-2 win over the World Champion Rangers. The infielder is having a very dominant preseason at the plate hitting a solid .316. The Cuban-American had also knocked in seven runs.
Yoan Moncada knocked in his second run of the spring via a third inning single to centerfield in three trips to the plate in Chicago’s 5-2 victory over the Diamondbacks. Moncada saw his average rise to .333 this spring. The third baseman seems to be finding his way after a slow start and rounding into shape as the season draws nearer.
