Liván Moinelo is brilliant in Softbank loss. (+Asian League Report)

Although he pitched brilliantly in first start in the NPB,Liván Moinelo took the loss after allowing a 2-run homer to Leandro Cedeño in the bottom of the fifth, which werethe only runs of the evening scored by either ballclub. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba also fanned four, while walking one and allowing three hits in Softbank’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Orix. Moinelo begins the season an ERA was 2.25 after his first start.

Roenis Elías notched his first win of the season after tossing six innings of eight-hit, two-run ball and retiring nine via the strikeout in SSG’s 9-6 win over the Samsung Lions. The hurler in 12 IP has fanned 14 and has an earned run average of 1.50. After two starts in the KBO he also sports an impressive 1.08 WHIP on the year.

Although he gave up two runs Río Gómez notched his first hold of the season in Wei Chaun’s 3-2 win over Rakuten. The Cuban-American pitched 2 ⅓ innings in relief while walking one and striking out three to watch his ERA rise to 7.71 on the early campaign. Gómez is the only player of Cuban in the CPBL this season.
