Nolan Arenado connected a first inning double to open up the scoring in St. Louis’ 3-1 victory over Oakland. The Cuban-American infielder who is hitting a solid .286 has also driven in nine runs on the campaign.

Yennier Cano tossed an 1⅔ of two-hit, no-run ball to preserve a Baltimore 7-4 win over Minnesota. The right-hander from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba now sports a 2.16 earned run average and has fanned eight in 8⅓ innings on the young campaign.

Nick Martínez tossed four innings in relief where he only gave up a run via three hits in Cincinnati’s 9-3 loss to Seattle . The righty also struck out three to see his ERA descend to 5.79 on the season. The team’s top free agent signee this offseason figures to be a jack-of-all trades for the Reds.
