After a scintillating start to his season with the Diablos Rojos de México City in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol, Jimmy Yacabonis is starting to garner interest from various teams in various leagues worldwide. My sources tell me that a few MLB and NPB teams have been to the Aztec capital to scout the Cuban- American right-hander.
The hurler has been one of the Diablos Rojos most effective relievers in his brief time with the team. In 12⅔ innings pitched with the team Yacabonis has record of 1-0, ERA of 1.42 and has struck out 13 hitters. In a total of 10 games in the LMB the righty sports a 1.02 WHIP and has four holds.

After a winter league season in which he did not allow a run with the Toros del Este of the LIDOM in 11⅔ innings pitched Yacabonis found himself unemployed to start the summer, but after incorporating himself with Gladys Alonso and A&F Sports the hurler found himself in México City. Yacabonis has taken this opportunity and run with it, even unleashing a mid-90’s fastball that has opened some scouts eyes.
Although he is a key piece of the Diablos Rojos’ bullpen do not expect Yacabonis to be with the team much longer because of the great need for relief pitching in the MLB and Asian Leagues. With and array of above average breaking pitches in his repertoire to along with his fastballs Yacabonis his become a welcomed commodity for various teams as of late.
