Darío Sarduy made his third start for the SoftBank Hawks’ third team versus the Kayawa Olive Guyners, an independent Japanese team from the Shikoku Island League.
In 4⅔ innings of work the Cuban lefty allowed seven hits, four earned runs and fanned seven. The team from Fukuoka downed the independent league 14-8, but the the hurler did not factor in the decision.
Guillermo Heredia went yard and knocked three runs, while also scoring a run in SSG’s 8-5 loss to Kia. The outfielder who also scored a run on the evening now leads the KBO with a .397 average and is fourth in the circuit with 28 runs batted in.
Although he did not factor in the decision, Dario Sarduy looked very good in his outing today, tossing 4.2 innings where he allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits and struck out 6. @HAWKS_official defeated Kayawa 14-8 in a minor league game.
