Elían Leyva continues to dominate on the mound in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. The right-hander tossed five innings of no-run, two-hit ball and struck out four in Yucatán’s 8-2 win over Puebla. Leyva notched his fourth win on the season and sports a 1.29 earned run average.
Leonys Martín collected three hits in four trips to the plate, one of them being an eighth inning three-run bomb in Querétaro’s 9-8 loss to México City. The outfielder is second in the league in homeruns (10) and OPS (1.185).
Luis Avilés Jr went yard on the second time on the campaign in Campeche’s 6-2 loss to Veracruz. The infielder who is now hitting .284 has also knocked in eight runs on the season. The slugger has gone yard twice now since arriving with the team.
