Leonys Martín went yard twice and knocked in three runs in Querétaro’s sweep of Campeche in a doubleheader 5-2,6-5 in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. The slugger from Villa Clara, Cuba also scored three times on the day and is hitting a robust .314 this season .333 on the season.
Although Martín has been inexplicably excluded from the All-Star ballot in the LMB, he is second in the circuit in homeruns (12) and OPS (1.212) and is second among Cubans with 26 runs batted in.
Henry Urrutia swatted three hits in five at-bats drove in a run via a first inning single and scored twice to Saltillo in their 6-4 win over Unión Laguna. The ex-big leaguer is now hitting .306 and his driven in 13 runs on the season.
