Liván Moinelo is masterful in SoftBank’s win. (+Asian League Report)

Liván Moinelo notched his second victory of the campaign this Friday after allowing a run via four hits in seven solid innings of work in the SoftBank’s 6-2 victory over the Seibu Lions at the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka.

The left-hander from Pinar del Río Cuba, hurled seven innings for the third consecutive start, improved his record to 2-1 and watched his ERA descend to 1.53, leaving third in the Pacific League in that statistical category.

Río Gómez notched his third win of the season after tossing 1⅓ innings of scoreless ball in which he fanned one during Wei-Chaun’s 8-1 win over the Fubon Guardians. The Cuban -American lefty watched his ERA descend to 1.42 on the season.

The southpaw has fanned 30 batters in 25 ⅓ innings, sports a 0.83 WHIP and is second in CPBL with eight holds. Gómez has been one of the premier relievers in the circuit and could be in line for a postseason award.
