Andy Pagés hit a key two-run second inning homer in the LA Dodgers’ 3-2 victory over the Reds. For the outfielder it was his only hit on the day and his average fell to .265 on the season. The slugger has now driven in 16 runs in 113 at-bats.
Carlos Rodón was spectacular in his outing last night. The Cuban- American right-hander tossed six solid innings of two-run, four-hit ball to notch his fifth victory of the season. The Yankees downed Chicago 7-2 and Rodón’s ERA dropped to 3.27 on the campaign.

Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless eighth inning in which he fanned two of three batters he faced in securing his 10th hold of the season and a Pirates 3-2 win over Chicago. The lefty has 12 strikeouts over his last seven outings and an earned run average of 1.35 over that span.
Nick Castellanos collected three hits in three trips to the plate and knocked in two runs to do his part in Philadelphia’s 11-5 thrashing of the Nationals. The Cuban-American outfielder broke a 5-for-26 skid in his last seven games.
