Aledmys Díaz is promoted to the big leagues.

Aledmys Díaz  received good news in the last few days ago. His team, the Oakland Athletics, made official the move in which they promoted the Villa Clara,Cuba native to the big leagues. After a stay on the 60-day injured list Díaz will grace the grand stage again. The team designated infielder Tyler Nevin for assignment and activated the infielder.

The versatile Cuban will be making his season debut. At the end of February, he suffered a serious injury in a spring training game against the San Francisco Giants. At that time he already had an injury to his left hip and corresponding examinations detected a strain to his groin to compound things, which justified his absence on the Opening Day  and kept him off the playing field until the current day.

After being taken off the disabled list, he was assigned to the Triple A , with a purpose to getting in shape. In the minor leagues he saw action in ten games, in which he hit .154 (26-4), with three runs scored, a double, a home run, five RBIs and slashed .313/.308/620 . With this promotion he will return to Oakland’s roster for the consecutive second campaign .

In 2023 he played 109 games in MLB with the Athletics hitting .229 with 25 runs scored, 20 doubles, a triple, four homeruns and 24 RBIs. His promotion now raises the number of Cuban that have seen action on the season to 27.
