Cuban outfielder Yoelkis Guibert will join the Senadores de Caracas for the second consecutive season in the Venezuelan Major League Baseball (MLB). This Monday, the team officially announced his continuity through its social media. During the last season, Guibert was also part of this team, with which he won the championship alongside fellow Cuban Dariel Álvarez.
Last year, he batted .471 (70 AB; 33 H) in the Regular Season, with 10 extra-base hits (7 2B, 1 3B, and 2 HR), 12 walks, four stolen bases, and 12 RBIs. In the Final against Líderes de Miranda, he hit .435 (10-for-23) in five games, with two doubles, one home run, and three walks. Since joining the Venezuelan tournament, the Senadores Guibert has made an immediate impact on the team’s offensive output.
Caracas has won three of the four editions of the Liga Mayor (2021, 2022, and 2024) and have also finished as the league’s runner-up in 2023, the year in which the Marineros de Carabobo, led by Lázaro Hernández and Yoel Yanqui, were crowned champions. Now, in 2025, the team from the nation’s capital is looking to repeat as champions and, as such, Guibert is a big part of their plan.
