Adrián Morejón notched his tenth win of the season in relief after tossing an inning in which he fanned all three batters he faced in the Padres’ 7-6 win over the Mariners. The left-hander now leads all relievers in MLB with a 2.1 WAR and saw his ERA descend to a miniscule 1.78 on the season.
Randy Arozarena also launched his 24th homer of the season to lead all Cubans in MLB in a losing cause for the Mariners in five at-bats. The speedster is now a stolen base away from a 25-25 season. Arozarena now hits .239 on the year.
Zach Neto swatted his 23rd longball of the season, a solo-shot in the ninth inning of the Angels 7-4 loss to the Rangers. The Cuban-American shortstop also scored a run and is hitting a robust .293 over his last 15 games.
In a losing cause Adolis García swatted two hits in four trips to the plate, drove in a run and also scored a run. The outfielder from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba has knocked in 67 runs on the campaign and saw his average rise to .228.
