With the Winter Leagues right around the corner two more Cubans have inked deals with Caribbean circuit squads. Veterans Félix Pérez have signed with the Jaguares de Nayarit of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico and outfielder Roel Santos with the Bravos de Margarita of the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional.
Pérez who played this summer with the Olmecas de Tabasco and Piratas de Campeche of the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol is a feared slugger in the Winter Leagues. Over 15 seasons in the winter he has slugged 97 longballs and has driven in 409 runs. The native of the Isle of Youth also slashes .268/.345/.453/.798 over that span.
In the case of Santos he is a premier leadoff hitter in the Caribbean. Over nine campaigns in the Liga ARCO, LVBP and LIDOM he has stolen 63 bases and sports a sterling .355 OBP. The speedy outfielder who hits .293 in the winter also saw action in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with the Olmecas de Tabasco.
