In the Liga ARCO Orlando Martínez went yard for the first time on the season, a solo-shot in the ninth inning during the Tomateros de Culiacán’s 6-2 loss to Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón. The outfielder saw his average rise to .250 on the season.
Also in México Yadir Drake homered for the third time on the winter, but Mexicali fell to Nayarit 5-2. The “Black Panther “, as he is known by the Cuban faithful hit .300 on the season and leads all of his countrymen in the Caribbean leagues with 14 runs batted in.
Rangel Ravelo laced two hits including a run-scoring double in the second inning in Lara’s 6-5 loss to the Leones del Caracas in the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional. The Cuban infielder has now driven in three runs on the campaign.
