Guillermo Heredia returns to the SSG Landers.

Cuban outfielder Guillermo Heredia had his contract renewed by the SSG Landers for the 2026 KBO season, the top baseball league in South Korea. His signing, for a salary of $1.3 million, along with that of pitcher Mitch White. This will be Heredia’s fourth consecutive season wearing the Landers uniform.

In his career, he boasts a .342 batting average (475 hits in 1389 at-bats) in 354 games, with 46 home runs, 248 RBIs, and an .893 OPS. His best season, without a doubt, was 2024. That year, he became the first Cuban player to win the KBO batting title, hitting .360 (195 hits in 541 at-bats) in 136 games. He also became the first Landers player to achieve this prestigious honor.

In 2025, he was unable to replicate that performance due to the fact that he was hampered by injuries, although his numbers were still very productive. In 96 games, he hit .339 (127-for-375), with 18 doubles, 13 home runs, 54 RBIs, and an .889 OPS. Heredia, who will turn 35 next January, has established himself as one of the best players in the Korean Baseball Organization over the past three years.

Although he isn’t known for being a power hitter, he has managed to hit more than ten home runs in each of his three seasons in the KBO. Before joining the Korean league, Heredia played for seven seasons in Major League Baseball for the Seattle Mariners (2016-2018), Tampa Bay Rays (2019), Pittsburgh Pirates (2020), New York Mets (2020), and Atlanta Braves (2021-2022), winning the World Series in his penultimate season in the majors. In total, he batted .231 with 27 home runs and 114 RBIs.
