Bryan Ramos continues to make the most of the opportunities the Baltimore Orioles have been giving him during this Spring Training. This Tuesday, he fell just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle in a game that ended in a 1–1 tie against the Detroit Tigers.
After playing nine games at third base, he lined up today as the eighth batter and second baseman (2B), demonstrating a versatility that could help him earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. He is now hitting .345 (29 AB; 10 H) this Spring Training, with three doubles, one home run, two walks, and three RBIs.
In his last game a 1-1 tie with the Tigers, he went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, a run scored, and an RBI. He blasted the homer off a fastball (95.8 MPH) from Justin Verlander; the ball left his bat at 104.8 MPH and traveled 396 feet to deep left-center field.
In 2025, his time with the White Sox major league team was limited to four games, batting .167 (2-for-12). He spent most of the time with the Triple-A affiliate, and there, despite hitting 16 home runs and driving in 51 runs, his overall numbers were poor, with a .216 batting average and a .705 OPS in 105 appearances.
The spring started off with Ramos being traded to Baltimore Orioles by the Chicago White Sox for cash. The St. Louis Cardinals then claimed the infielder off waivers from the Orioles. St. Louis then designated Ramos for assignment and Baltimore reclaimed him off waivers.
If he makes the roster he would definitely be the surprise of the spring within the Baltimore organization. In 111 big league games with the Chicago White Sox he slashes .198/.244/.333/.577 with three homeruns and 13 runs batted in.
