Yoel Yanqui swatted a two-run homerun in three trips to the plate, a two-run shot in the third inning of the Marineros de Carabobo’s 11-4 loss to the Guerreros de Lara. The Cuban slugger also scored a run and drew a walk on the evening.

For Yanqui, this marks his 24th home run in the Major League’s Regular Season—a tournament in which he was the batting champion in 2025 with a .438 average (146 AB; 64 H).

Lázaro Alonso swatted two hits in three at-bats, a run-scoring single in the third inning and a double that also drove in a run in the seventh inning to do his part in the Senadores de Caracas’ 9-2 win over the defending league champions Samanes de Aragua.

Geisel Cepeda was the only other Cuban to see action on the evening during the Caciques del Distrito’s 5-4 win over Líderes de Miranda.  The outfielder collected two hit in four trips to the plate to leave an average of .500 to open up the campaign.
