Onelki García notches his first win of the season for Campeche. (+Mexican League Report)

Onelki García earned his first win of the season this Wednesday with a one-inning relief appearance against the Tigres de Quintana Roo in Campeche’s 4-2 win in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol.

The Guantánamo,Cuba native did not allow any earned runs in a full inning of work, during which he struck out one batter. Following this performance, his ERA dropped to 2.70.

In a loss for Quintana Roo, Diosbel Arias swatted his second homerun of the season in three trips to maintain his average at .333 and has now driven in three runs on the young campaign. Arias figures to be a key piece of the team’s offense this season.

David Villar swatted a hit in four trips to the plate and knocked in a run via a eighth inning groundout to do his part in Durango’s 5-3 loss to the Sultanes de Monterrey. The infielder leads the Caliente with six runs batted in on the campaign.
