Maikel Serrano swatted a fifth inning three-run homer, his only hit on the day in three at-bats during Aguascalientes’ 13-11 victory over the Dorados de Chihuahua. The Cuban slugger has gone yard three times and hits .600 on the season in limited at-bats with the team.
Diosbel Arias laced a run-scoring third inning double during the Tigres de Quintana Roo’s 10-5 loss to the Pericos de Puebla. The Cuban infielder saw his average fall to .353 but augmented his RBI total to six in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol.
Coco Montes collected a hit in three trips to the plate, a single that knocked in a run during the Saraperos de Saltillo’s 4-3 loss to the Acereros del Norte. In two games with the ballclub the Cuban-American now sports a .375 batting average.
Yusniel Díaz continues to swing a hot lumber with Unión Laguna. For the second time on the season in short time with the Algodoneros the outfielder collected four hits. The native of Havana also drove in two runs and also scored twice on the evening, but the Aztec squad still fell to Jalisco 12-11. Díaz now hits a robust .423 on the season.
