Henry Urrutia knocked in six runs via a second inning sacrifice fly, a third inning bases clearing double and a seventh inning three-run shot to lead the Conspiradores de Querétaro. The Cuban slugger has now driven in 20 runs and leads the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol in batting average.
Although he did not factor in the decision Vladimir Gutierrez tossed seven innings of six-hit, one-run ball during Puebla’s 6-1 victory over the Diablos Rojos of Mexico City. The right-hander fanned eight hitters and saw his ERA descend to 3.58 on the season.
Oscar Luis Colás homered twice amongst his four hits during Saltillo’s 13-4 thrashing of the Dorados de Chihuahua. The outfielder also knocked in four runs while scoring four times on the day and also watching his average rise to .360 on the year during his short time with the Saraperos.
