According to a Francys Romero report Cuban right-hander Yunior Tur is being called up to the Major Leagues by the Athletics. Once he makes his MLB debut, Tur will become the 29th Cuban-born player to appear in the Major Leagues during the 2026 season.
Tur was close to representing Cuba in the VI World Baseball Classic, but instead chose to prioritize his invitation to Spring Training and prepare for what would become a pivotal season in his career. Now, after years of hard work, obstacles, and sacrifices in the minor leagues, the 26-year-old is on the verge of fulfilling his dream of reaching the Big Leagues.
This season with the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators, Tur has been used primarily as a reliever. In 27 appearances (five starts), he owns a 4.41 ERA over 51.0 innings (25 ER), while striking out 64 batters and holding opponents to a .217 batting average. The hurler will more than likely have a spot in the team’s bullpen.
