Sal Stewart launched his 31st homer of the season, a seventh inning solo-shot to do his part in the Cincinnati Reds’ 7-5 win over the Chicago Cubs. Víctor Mederos tossed a tenth inning during which he also fanned a batter and help secure the Atlanta Braves’ 3-2 extra inning win over the Colorado Rockies. For the right-hander it was his fourth victory of the season and his earned run average also fell to 3.04.
