Miguel Vargas went yard for the 30th time on the season his only hit in four at-bats, a solo-shot in the first inning of the Chicago White Sox’s 4-1 triumph over the Minnesota Twins. The third baseman from Havana made history by becoming only the third pale holes third baseman to swat 30 homeruns and 30 doubles, Robin Ventura and Joe Crede are the others.

Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth during which he fanned two of the three batters he faced to secure the Atlanta Braves 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Aroldis Chapman threw a scoreless ninth inning in which he struck out a batter to close out the Boston Red Sox’s 1-0 blanking of the Baltimore Orioles. The flamethrowing left-hander now sports a 2.08 earned run average on the season and also secured the 399th save of his career.
