Cuba clears up in which upcoming international tournaments it will compete for the near future.

Today, a press conference was held at the Latinamericano Stadium where the President of the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS), Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, provided an update on upcoming international tournaments in which Cuba would or would not participate in.

According to his statements: “Cuba will not participate in the Copa del Caribe to be held in December in the Bahamas due to infrastructure issues (no money) and, above all, the costs for the Federation. Registration for this Cup requires each athlete to pay $65 per day.”

“The Serie de Las Américas that begins on January 23 in Panama, and a team will participate with players from the Serie Nacional who have been pre-selected for the World Baseball Classic. Ciego de Ávila will participate in the Caribbean Series in Venezuela, and the champion of the 64th National Baseball Series will attend the Champions League, which is scheduled to take place in April.”

“If the Copa América does take place, although nothing is official yet, it should be between September and November 2026, and it should be a qualifier for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games,” assured Juan Reinaldo Pérez. Once again Cuba proves that it is rag-tag Federation and embarrassed itself to the world on another occasion.
