Athletics recall Luis Danys Morales from the Minors.

The Athletics have recalled Cuban hurler Luis Danys Morales from the minor leagues after a brief stint on the ballclub’s farm. In three starts at Las Vegas the flamethrowing Morales had an 0-1 record and an 8.76 earned run average.

Morales was very hittable in his first appearance of the season took place on March 29, when he took the loss against the Toronto Blue Jays, surrendering five runs and three home runs over 4.1 innings.

He fared even worse in his most second outing, on April 4, against the Houston Astros. Once again, he was the losing pitcher; over three innings, he was battered for eight hits and five runs, while also displaying alarming lack of control by recording zero strikeouts and issuing six walks.

The right-hander from Sancti Spíritus returns to the Major Leagues just in time to face the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Morales will report to Sacramento prior to the game as part of a shake-up in the starting rotation by the Californian squad.

Although he struggled in two starts during the 2026 season (posting a 12.27 ERA), everyone knows the immense talent he possesses. In his MLB debut showed great promise (finishing 4-3, 3.14 in 2025). Now, this “raw talent” is looking to reassert himself and show that he does belong on the major league level.
